Welcome to the Reading Model United Nations (RUMUN) website!

Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation of the U.N. General Assembly and other multilateral bodies. It not only involves students in the study and discussion of global issues, but also encourages the development of skills useful throughout their lives, such as research, writing, public speaking, problem solving, consensus building, conflict resolution, and cooperation. Over the course of 50 years, hundreds of thousands of high school and college students have taken part in Model United Nations programs.

Reading University Model United Nations Club involves students acting like real UN delegates of countries in a mock UN forum e.g. General Assembly where they debate issues based on their countries foreign policy. Its good for CV for people who are interested in careers connected to political office, foreign affairs department, working for NGO's, working for the UN, International Law, Journalism e.t.c. It is also fun and enjoyable.

Looking for University of Reading students who are interested in becoming members and supporting the starting of the club!
